Atila Pesyani, a theater, cinema and television actor, was born in May 1336 in Tehran, graduated from the Department of Theater Directing and Acting from the Faculty of Fine Arts. His father, Hilal Pesiani, was an air force officer and his mother, Jamila Sheikhi, was an actress. Hilal Pesiani died two years after Attila’s birth. Jamila Sheikhi married Mehdi Qureshi, the vice-chancellor of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, in 1345. The result of this marriage is a daughter named Atusa Qureshi, who is the half-sister of Atila Pesiani. Atusa Qureshi is also an actress and has appeared in the movies Boi Pirahen Youssef, Aynak Dodi and another birthday series. Attila Pesiani was ten years old when he was commissioned by Ruknuddin Khosravi (director, writer and translator) in the play Zaman Khan’s reign by Mirza Agha Tabrizi in two roles, the crown prince of Shah Qajar and the disciple of Delak, and he was paid 240 tomans. At the age of 16, he entered the theater workshop and participated in the meetings of literary societies and performing plays. Some time later, he became an official employee of the theater department. In 1348, he had a short forty-second appearance in a movie. In 1357, he married Fatemeh Naqvi (an actress), and the result of this marriage are two children named Setare and Khosro, both of whom are active in the field of acting. The movie Ifrit in 1360 is Attila Pesiani’s first cinematic experience. In 1363, he went on stage in Haft Khan Rostam’s show. In 1362, he co-starred in the movie Merg Sefid with Fatemeh Naqvi, and after some time away from the cinema, in 1365, he gave one of his best performances in the movie Talsam. In 1368, with the cooperation of his wife, he founded the play theater group with the aim of developing experimental theater. In 1370, he was in the movie Best Dad in the World as a planner and assistant director. During his career, he acted in more than 40 shows, about 80 films and more than 70 series. Pasiani was one of the pioneers of experimental theater. He presented a comfortable and intimate performance, this point made him collaborate in different genres with directors such as Fereydoun Jirani, Rasool Malaqlipour, Bahram Bayzaei and Ebrahim Hatami Kia. Farzad Motman believes that Pasiani is a “technical actor with high concentration on stage” who plays complex and psychological roles in a perceptible way. In addition to acting in theater, television and cinema, Pesiani has the experience of directing, assistant director, planner, director, casting and costume assistant in his artistic career. In 1400, in an interview with Fereydon Jirani, he announced that he had not watched TV for 17 years. These talks led to many reactions in cyberspace and news agencies to the point where Pesiani apologized to his colleagues and TV viewers two days later. Attila Pesiani died on October 14, 1402 while he went to France for cancer treatment. His body was buried on the 19th of Mehr in the artists’ plot of Behesht Zahra in Tehran.
