Born in 1359
Houman Seyyedi is a director, actor, screenwriter and editor. He was born in 1359 in Rasht. His mother was retired from the Navy and his father was an employee of the Agricultural Bank. He has two brothers named Hamed and Hamon and a sister named Hilda. Homan Sidi studied graphics in high school. After receiving his diploma, he participated in the classes of Rasht Youth Cinema Association and made several short films. He took acting courses at Karnameh Institute under the supervision of Parviz Perstavii. In 2013, he played a role as an actor in the movie Yek Teke Nan, then he played a short role in the movie Chaharban Suri. In 2016, he entered television by acting in the series Rah Bepayan. After making several short films, including 35 Meters of Water Level and Blue Tooth (for which he won many awards at the Tehran International Short Film Festival), he directed his first feature film called Africa. He was also in charge of script writing and editing of this film. According to critics, this film is one of Iran’s noir films. Many actors such as Amir Jadidi, Yesna Mirtahmasab, Navid Porfaraj, Laden Javavand and Hamoun Sidi were among his students. The movie Small Rusty Brains by Homan Sidi was one of the best-selling movies released in Iran in 1997. The Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution awarded him an honorary doctorate in recognition of the many successes of this artist. Sidi has appeared in several shows, including the gentleman’s neighbor and the constitution of the lady by Hossein Kiyani. He married Azadeh Samadi in 1385. They separated from each other in 2012. Homan Sidi married Bita Aslani in 2013. They have a daughter named Neil.
