Mahdi Jafari | مهدی جعفری

Mahdi Jafari is a director, cinematographer and documentary maker. After a short period of acting in Tater, he started filmmaking in 1364 by participating in the Najaf Abad Youth Cinema Association; Then, in 1367, he entered the Faculty of Cinema and Theater of Tehran University of Arts and completed his studies in the bachelor’s degree in cinema directing. He started making short fiction films in 1998 and has been working as a director of cinematography in Iranian cinema since 1999. Mehdi Jafari has also produced several short and long documentaries in his career. He is also a member of the founding board of the Iranian Short Film Association in Khaneh Cinema. The presence of one of his short films named “Komi Naar” among the ten films of the short film competition of the Berlin International Film Festival in 2006 is considered one of the honors of Iranian short films.
