Varuzh Karim-Masihi, born on April 4, 1331 in Arak, is a director, screenwriter and editor of Iranian Armenian origin. After finishing high school in 1348, he went to Austria to continue his studies and in 1349 to Germany. He, who was planning to enter the medical school, got interested in art by meeting a theater actor at the Munich Armenian Club and returned to Iran in 1350. In Iran, it was introduced to Bahram Bayzaei by Barbad Taheri (cameraman and producer). Varuzh Karim-Masihi considers April 14, 1350 as his cinematic birthday. In 1351, he appeared in the film Regbar as an assistant and stage secretary and worked as an assistant in Baidaei films for a long time. As an assistant, he worked with Kamran Shirdel in the movie Sobh Rooz Chavarh, Amir Naderi in the movie Tangna, Bahman Farman Ara in the movie Shahzadeh Ehtjab, and Mohammad Reza Aslani in the movie Chann Kand Hakait. In 1351, while being accepted in the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, he gave up his studies. The short film Cuckoo, based on a design by Malek Jahan Khazai, was his first filmmaking experience. The short films Koch and Salander in 1356 and 1359 are among his other creations. Swedish TV bought the short films Selender and Fakhte and Hungarian Radio and TV also bought the short film Fakhte for screening. Cuckoo and Selander films were screened in several international festivals including Leipzig, East Germany, Oberhausen, West Germany, Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia. The first cinematic work of Varozh Karim Mashii is the film The Last Part, which was shown for the first time in the ninth edition of the Fajr International Film Festival, which was nominated for the Crystal Simorgh in sixteen categories and won it in eight categories, including the best director and the best editor. . The movie Doubt in 1387 was his second movie, which won the Crystal Simorgh Award for the best film of the 27th Fajr Film Festival. Varozh Karim Meshii has a history of judging in the 8th edition of the Nahal Short Film Festival. He got married in 1360 and has two children named Mehr and Mania.
