Tannaz Tabatabaei was born on May 20, 1362 in Tehran, graduated with a BA in theater direction from the Islamic Azad University, Tehran branch. He started his artistic career in 2019 by participating in acting classes at Hiva Film Institute. For some time, he worked as an actor in several shows and after some time he was selected to play in the Zabih TV series. This series was created by Abbas Moradian and was broadcasted on Yazd TV channel.

In 1980, he played in the TV series Javani by Saeed Soltani and a year later he played a role in the series Rent Khawar Kooch, directed by Hossein Soheilzadeh.

In 1983, he entered the cinema scene by acting in the movie Babatu Didim Aida directed by Rasool Sadr Aamili.

In 1985, he played the role of Faringis in the television series Dar Cheshm Bad by Masoud Jafari Jozani. In this series, he worked with many actors, including Akbar Abdi, Parsa Pirouz Far and Kambiz Deirbaz. The filming of this series started in 1982 and lasted for 5 years, and finally in 1988, it was broadcasted on Sima channel. The production cost of this series is estimated at nearly 12 billion Tomans and has been called one of the most expensive TV series. In the same year, Tabatabai starred in the movie Four Fingers directed by Saeed Sohaili.

In 1986, he became famous by playing a role in the TV series “Forbidden Fruit” by Hassan Fathi. He co-starred in this series with Ali Nasiryan, Gohar Khairandish, Amir Jafari and Hanieh Tousli. In 1986, Tabatabai collaborated with Farzad Motaman in three movies named Mems, Music Box and Shabzad.

In 1987, he worked only in the cinema and appeared in the movies Mi Zak directed by Hossein Ali Lialestani, Son Tehrani directed by Kazem Rast Geftar, Sedaha directed by Farzad Motaman and Shirin directed by Abbas Kiarostami. Tannaz Tabatabaei was nominated for the best supporting actress from the Fajr Film Festival and won the best supporting actress statue from the Iranian Cinema Critics Association for her role in the movie Sedaha.

In 1988, she played the role of Niloufer in the second episode of the movie Tehran-Tehran by Mehdi Karampour. Then she played in the TV series Parentz Baaz by Kiyomarth Pourahmad and was nominated for the best actress of television comedy from the 12th Hafez festival.

In 1989, she played the role of Maryam in the movie Marham by Alireza Davoudenjad and received an honorary diploma from the fifth ceremony of the Iranian Cinema Critics Association. Bahman Gudarzi’s movie “Spardeh” was his next work in 1989. Tabatabai then starred in the movie Parinaz directed by Bahram Bahramian. This movie was banned for 7 years and finally it was released in 1996 in Art and Experience Group. At the end of 1989, he played a role in the movie report of a celebration made by Ebrahim Hatami Kia.

In 1990, he worked in Dares shows directed by Dariush Mehrjooi and a little later, directed by Arvand Dasht Arai. Then he acted in the movies Orange Posh and Seventh. The movie Hayes! Girls Don’t Scream was his most important work in 1990. To act in this film, Tannaz Tabatabaei was nominated as the best actress from the Hafez Festival (Cinematic Section), American Independent Women’s Festival, San Francisco Iranian Film Festival, Fiji International Film Festival, and Sanandaj and Kerman Fajr Film Festival. She was also nominated for the best actress in the Fajr Film Festival of Kermanshah.

In 1991, he participated in the show Tintin and the secret of Qasr Mondas directed by Arvand Dasht Arai and the third season of the home show of the Ice Heart.

In 1992, he worked in the play Gardener of Death directed by Arvand Dasht Arai. In Nowruz 1992, he was a guest in the Red Hat Nowruz series. This series was one of the most watched TV series of Nowruz 92. In the same year, Tabatabai co-starred with Marjaneh Golchin, Farhad Aslani, Ahmed Mehranfar and Hamidreza Azarang in the Shahgoosh home theater series directed by Dawood Mirbaghri. In 1992, he worked in the movie A Piece of Silence directed by Ariana Rostami. Then he acted in the movie “Sakin Bakha Wesat”, which was Shahab Hosseini’s first directorial experience. The last fifty steps made by Kiyomarth Pourahmad and the movie Naarjah Ghalit by Hamid Nematullah are among his other works in 1992.

In 1993, she played the role of Mandana Riahi in the movie Rukh Divaneh by Abolhasan Davoudi and was nominated for the best actress in the leading role at the Fajr Film Festival. Rukh Divaneh won the Crystal Simorgh for the best film and the Crystal Simorgh for the best film in the 33rd edition of the Fajr Film Festival. From the audience’s point of view. The movie Death of Fish was his next work in 1993.

In 1994, he appeared in the movie Twenty Weeks directed by Masoud Karagzlou. Then, she played the role of Hina Sarafraz in the movie Khashm and Hayahu by Hooman Sidi and was nominated for the best actress in the Fajr Film Festival. Fury and Chaos was released in the cinemas of the country at the end of March 2014 and, including the sale of the film on the home theater network, it sold more than two billion tomans. Tabatabai continued to play a role in the Arvand movie directed by Pouria Azarbaijani.

1995 as the main role alongside Mahnaz Afshar and Aida Mahiani in the movie Arhatmand; Nazanin, Bahare and Tina by Abdolreza Kahani played a role. Then he worked in romantic dramas from the Middle East directed by Kyomarth Moradi. Villaiha was his next work in 1995. This film is made by Munir Qadi, which was first shown at the 35th Fajr Film Festival and was nominated for 8 awards and won 3 awards.
